Joe has conducted several courses on Richard Rohr’s works, including A LEVER AND A PLACE TO STAND and FALLING UPWARD. Joe has been asked to lead this year’s Advent Study, beginning on December 4, 2016. His text will be Dr. Walter Brueggemann’s little paperback entitled Names for the Messiah. This year’s Bible study (2016-17) will include passages from Scripture and the book by the late Marcus Borg entitled Reading the Bible Again for the First Time. The Bible Study will be suspended for the Advent Study, but will resume the first Sunday after the New Year. Newcomers are welcome; prior knowledge is NOT necessary.
Joe taught an Educational Philosophy course at Ursuline College in the Ed Admin program and is recently retired from his role as Interim Dean of the School of Graduate and Professional Studies. He continues as Dean of the Cleveland Ecumenical Institute for Religious Studies. See the website www.ceirs.org for more information on this year’s programs.
Joe will be preaching at Heights Christian Church on the Fourth Sunday of Easter, May 7, 2017 at the Worship service that begins at 10 a.m. His sermon title for May 7th is “What If?” Joe will also be preaching at Heights Christian Church on Pentecost Sunday, June 4, 2017.
